The
Cottage is privately located at the end of Ilsington
Lawn, an 18th century country house, believed to have
been the residence of Thomas Hardy’s
doctor.
The
Cottage and garden enjoy a secluded position on the edge of the
pretty village
of Puddletown
(Hardy's Weatherbury).
A short walk from the cottage garden across the little
river Piddle leads to this attractive village with its shop,
pub, antiquarian bookshop, thatched cottages and historic
church.
Upstairs
the Cottage has a main bedroom with a lovely rural view, a
small twin-bedded room and a bathroom. Downstairs there is a
sitting-room, dining-room and kitchen, all with pleasant
outlooks. It has
its own carport with secluded parking and space for another car.
Dorchester
lies 5
miles
to the west with many attractions, pubs, restaurants, and a
24-hour Tesco. The
World Heritage Jurassic Coast is about
8
miles
away; Poole/Bournemouth lie 12/15 miles to the east, and
Weymouth about 12
miles
to the south-west. Close
by you’ll find Athelhampton House
and the
village
of
Tolpuddle,
famous for its martyrs.
Please

sun until mid-afternoon. Small patio with garden table and chairs
available. Private and
secluded carport. Space
for extra car in main parking area.
Secluded parking spaces for 2
cars. Night storage heating plus supplementary electric heating. Changeover
day is Saturday. Short breaks are available, please telephone or email
for details. Rent includes electricity and linen. Dogs are
permitted for £10 per stay. Smoking is
not permitted. Please
note we don’t accept children under 6. The Cottage has a fairly steep
staircase with handrails on both sides.

Cottages are cleaned between each let and
inspected regularly. Please help us maintain
high standards by leaving the property clean and tidy. There is £30
charge for cleaning, unless visitors are happy to leave the cottage as
they find it, in which case we waive this charge.

Booking
information:
This
cottage is available to rent by the week with change-over
on Saturday. Change-over days vary for short breaks. We
ask for a deposit of £150 and for full payment on
arrival. We
retain your deposit as a security bond until departure,
returnable assuming no damage.
If
you cancel your booking, we keep your deposit unless we
are able to re-let the cottage.
