The cottage is located directly opposite a short lane leading to an open space called the Millennium Wood which provides excellent dog walking facilities and access to pleasant walks in lovely countryside.

There is a well stocked village store less than 5 minutes walk away and a pleasant country pub offering pub food about the same distance. Yetminster has its own railway station, on the Bath-Weymouth line.

The historic town of Sherborne is about five miles to the northwest, offering many interesting shops, an ancient Abbey and two castles and shopping centre with supermarket. The Dorset Heritage Coast is a short drive away as are Weymouth , about 30 minutes drive, with Bournemouth and Poole about 45 minutes. The historic county market town of Dorchester is approximately 12 miles away with many excellent facilities.
