Domineys Cottages has three delightful 2-bedroom cottages peacefully situated on village edge - between the Downs and Blackmore Vale in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Each early 19th Century cottage is decorated, furnished & equipped to a very high standard. Immaculately maintained, with central heating and a fireplace in each living room, they combine comfort with modern facilities. Each cottage has a sheltered patio overlooking the garden.

These attractively situated, tranquil cottages are surrounded by beautiful gardens, adjacent to the owners’ 17th Century thatched cottage. The gardens are opened occasionally for the National Gardens Scheme.

The heated swimming pool, available every afternoon, is in the owners sheltered garden.

Domineys is in a rural locality off a no-through road, leading to a network of footpaths.

Apart from the beauty of the countryside, among the many places to visit are National Trust properties and other historic houses and gardens, wildlife parks and good museums. Dorset is renowned for its beaches, outstanding walks and World Heritage Jurassic coastline. There is horse riding, tennis and golf within 12 miles and fishing nearby. There are good restaurants and pubs in the vicinity. The Gaggle of Geese, the village pub & restaurant, is 5 minutes walk away. Village shop and Post Office.

We welcome children over 5 years and babies.

Each cottage sleeps up to 4 persons.

Open all year including Christmas.

Downstairs:

Living room with wood burner in attractive old fireplace; comfortable sofa (sofa bed) and easy chairs; TV & DVD player; dining table with seating for four.

Fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, clothes washer, fridge, and view of patio and garden.

Back lobby with back door to patio and garden leading to

Bathroom with shower over bath, basin and wc; heated towel rail, fan heater and extraction fan.

Upstairs:

Spiral stairs leading to small landing and Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2

Bedroom 1 at front of cottage with double bed.

Bedroom 2 overlooking patio and garden with small double bed.

Fitted carpet throughout.

Off peak electric storage heating (with afternoon boost) throughout cottage; Woodburner in living room. Double glazed windows.

Changeover day is Friday.

Electricity will be charged by meter reading. Bed linen (for duvets) is available at £5 per bed. Towels are provided for overseas visitors £3 per person. No smoking in the cottage please. We regret dogs are not permitted.

Exterior description:

Parking space. Sheltered patio outside back door, with garden furniture; lawn and garden beyond.

Departure time:      10.00am

Cottages are cleaned between each let and inspected regularly. Please help us maintain high standards by leaving the property clean and tidy.

Booking information:

This Cottage is available to rent by the week with changeover on Friday. Change-over days vary for short breaks. First payment is 25% of total rent. Final payment is due one month prior to start of holiday. Full payment is required, if booking is made within one month of holiday. Bed linen charge of £5 per bed and electricity bill are paid on departure.

Short breaks available from mid September to mid May excluding Christmas, New Year and Easter. Minimum booking is 3 nights. Changeover day varies, please contact owner for full details.

Cancellation:

In summary, if you cancel your booking we shall try to re-let. If this is possible, your money will be refunded less a £25 cancellation charge. If we are unable to re-let then none of the moneys paid can be refunded. We advise you to take out cancellation insurance; an application will be enclosed with the acknowledgement of your deposit payment.
